Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer ₹7,500 crore as the first instalment to 75 lakh women under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana on September 26 to help them start businesses of their choice. According to an official statement from the Bihar Chief Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister will transfer ₹10,000 each to 75 lakh women through Direct Benefit Transfer at a function in the State capital. He will participate in the event through video conference. The Rural Development Department, the nodal agency for the scheme, has so far received over 1.11 crore applications from women, while the Urban Development Department will oversee implementation in urban areas.
