University Hosts Industry–Academia Conclave
Lecture Series on Indian Education System Inaugurated
Baripada, Nov 6 —
A conclave on industry–academia collaboration for students and a lecture series on the Indian education system for teachers were inaugurated today at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo University (MSCBU), Baripada.
The program, organized by the University’s Human Resource Development Centre and sponsored by the Government of India’s PM-USHA initiative, was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pramod Kumar Shatapathy.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shatapathy emphasized that under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the university is committed to building strong partnerships with industries, fostering intellectual property development, promoting its commercialization, and facilitating technology transfer to industrial institutions.
P.K. Dave, President of the North Odisha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Balasore), attended as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Debaprasad Chattopadhyay, noted scientist and founding faculty of the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Belagavi, joined as the Distinguished Guest.
Among other dignitaries present were Prof. Kamal Lochan Barik, Chairperson of the University Postgraduate Council, and Prof. Indrajit Nayak, Nodal Officer of the PM-USHA program. Addressing the gathering, the guests highlighted that the needs of industry are evolving rapidly, and while modern India has no shortage of talent, there is often a lack of motivation. They urged students to cultivate clarity of thought and purpose to adapt to these changing times.
The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Sukanta Kumar Nayak, Director of the Human Resource Development Centre, while Prof. (Dr.) Pushpanjali Parida delivered the vote of thanks.
Faculty members including Dr. Pratap Kumar Jena, Dr. Bishnupriya Hansda, Dr. Priyaranjan Devata, Dr. Swarupananda Bisoyi, Dr. Sitaram Das, Dr. Janmejaya Nayak, Dr. Shubhani Rath, Dr. Gargi Mohanty, Syeda Fauzia Manowar, and Rashmi Pradhan contributed to the organization of the event.
Teachers, researchers, and students from the university and its affiliated colleges participated in the inaugural function. The seven-day program will feature lectures by several eminent personalities from academia and industry.
